Marketing tips

This article is a list of all the marketing principles that I find to be correct (obviously to be applied in each case and I will add more or edit by the time):

  1. Do not invent ideas, search it: search for problems to resolve first, then search it how to solve it, do not do the opposite.
  2. The quality speaks for itself: try to make the product as good as possibile, you should care both from usage, design and packaging.
  3. The first version is always bad: do not spend so much resources for the first version of your product, release it, ask for feedback and with that improve it.
  4. Low price doesn't mean easier to sell: put a low price on your product will not increase sales, sometimes it will define your product as "garbage".
  5. Patience is key: results take time, Rome wasn't builded in one day, if you see a product that exploded in a short time probably it won't last long.
  6. Logo and name must be simple: don't waste time on incredible names or perfect logos, name bust be simple and the logo a direct rapresentation of the name.
  7. Stay grounded: know your resource limits, know how your competitors are bigger than you, in this way you can adjust your goals. Keep your eyes on the stars and your feet on the ground to give yourself a running start.
  8. The intelligent are silent, the stupid are loud: when you start share on social media your product, you will start getting criticized, is a lot important to separate who tell you constructive criticism and stupid criticism, unfortunately good ones are really rare (usually people just don't tell to you) and the bad ones will be a lot.
  9. Focus on one product at the time: you have to focus 100% on a single project, probably for months or years to see true results, is the only way to determinate if your product is gonna be a side project or a real project.
  10. Money is the last reason to start creating a product: if your main goal is to become rich, this not suite for you, according to statistics it's easy to become milionaire as a doctor. You should enjoy the process, because you will waste years, money and time on a project that will not make any sales.
  11. Product without style is engineering, product with style is art: do you prefer to eat a well-presented dish or a poorly-presented one? It doesn't mean it's better or worse, but usually something that looks good is preferred.
